LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Project Accountant. This position is 5 days on site in the Stamford, CT area.
Summary of Position:The Project Accountant plays a key role in managing construction accounting and supporting special projects for management. This position is responsible for Accounts Payable coding, processing, and billing for assigned construction projects. The role collaborates closely with Finance leadership, Project Managers, Estimators, and Subcontractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter project budgets using accurate cost codes for schedule of values.
- Review subcontractor G702/703 forms for accuracy, change orders, and sales tax.
- Prepare monthly owner requisitions and monitor payments with Project Managers.
- Code and input subcontractor requisitions for monthly pay applications.
- Collect lien waivers for all subcontractor payments and include them in owner pay applications.
- Prepare monthly forecasts for general conditions and trades, including financials.
- Ensure subcontractors meet all mandatory requirements (insurance, contracts, bonds, certified payroll, etc.).
- Provide backup support to Contract Administrator and Accounts Payable Administrator.
- Analyze job cost reports to ensure alignment between owner billings and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to bill approved change orders to subcontractors and owners.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, including General Ledger; construction industry experience is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Excel; CMIC Construction software experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
