Hiring a Deposits Sales Manager
This role is responsible for
driving growth across deposits, treasury services, and lending
, while ensuring the branch network delivers on both sales and service excellence.
The position manages
Business Development Officers, Branch Managers, and branch staff
and serves as a
player/coach,
personally developing business while leading the team to achieve results. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will have visibility and influence at the highest level of the bank.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Sales Optimization
- Lead, coach, and manage Business Development Officers, Branch Managers, and branch staff.
- Establish and drive clear sales goals across
deposits, treasury services, loans, and cross-sell. - Monitor pipelines, production, and activity, ensuring accountability and results.
Business Development (Player/Coach)
- Personally originate and expand relationships in business banking, treasury services, and lending.
- Deliver tailored deposit, cash management, and lending solutions to business and professional clients.
- Generate and refer residential mortgage opportunities by partnering with mortgage specialists.
Branch Network Oversight
- Directly manage Branch Managers and their staff, ensuring execution of deposit, treasury, and loan growth strategies.
- Drive branch accountability for sales, service, and client relationship development.
- Partner with Branch Managers to enhance client experience and strengthen community presence.
- Ensure concierge-level service is consistently delivered to premium and business clients.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, and Residential Mortgage teams to deliver full banking relationships.
- Work directly with the CEO to shape and execute market growth strategy.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive banking experience, with proven success in
branch leadership, deposits, and lending. - Demonstrated ability to manage branch networks and business development teams.
- Strong expertise in
business banking, treasury services, and lending. - Established community presence and professional network in Greater Richmond.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
