Years of experience: 6 to 10 Years
Technical/Functional Skills :
- Optical Networking: Solid understanding of DWDM, SDH/SONET, and other optical transport technologies.
- Good understanding NOC process flow, 24*7 support.
- Hands on Experience in Optical OEM's (Ciena, Nokia, Cambium, Aviat) and good in Troubleshooting. o Expert in Pathloss 5.1, MapInfo, Global mapper, QGIS, Mini-Link Planner
- Good understanding of RSL, Fade Margin, Availability, Interference etc. and capacity requirements. Understanding of DCN/VLAN and path calculation
- Good understanding of OTN, DWDM, SONET,SDH, ADM,TCP/IP, DCN, Mobile Backhaul, Fronthaul, IP, IP/MPLS etc.
- · Network Protocols: Knowledge of relevant network protocols (e.g., Ethernet, MPLS). · Troubleshooting:
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues. · Equipment Management: Experience with managing and maintaining optical transport equipment. § Connection Schematic Diagrams, Visio IFD ·
- Documentation: Ability to create and maintain detailed network documentation. § Regulatory compliance Application (SACFA, ISED, WPC) ·
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other teams. · Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. § Co-ordinating with various team to fix the issue to identify the RCA.
- · Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing network environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Identifies and resolves basic technical problems related to microwave and optical transport equipment and networks.
• Support and Escalation: Provides initial support to users experiencing issues, escalating more complex problems to L2/L3 support teams.
• Ticketing System Management: Manages and updates ticketing systems to document issues, solutions, and updates. NMS,EMS provisioning, Fault Management, Troubleshooting
• Communication and Collaboration: Maintains clear communication with users and other support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Network Monitoring: Monitors network performance and alerts on potential issues, escalating to higher-level support if necessary.
• Basic Installation and Configuration: May assist with basic installation and configuration of microwave and optical equipment.
• Documentation: Maintains accurate documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
