About the role:
A dedicated Senior Architectural Engineer is sought to contribute to complex, high-profile projects in an international setting. The role is part of a division focused on industrial and building environments, with a particular emphasis on mission-critical facilities such as data centers.
Projects typically include architectural inspections, full design and engineering phases, and coordination during on-site construction stages. These are dynamic projects requiring resilience, precision in detailing, and solid technical knowledge, especially of Dutch building regulations. Experience in producing documentation for permit and tender applications is essential, as is a background in international projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate with engineers from various disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, infrastructure, structural, building physics, and fire safety, as well as directly with clients.
- Lead a team of modelers and engineers responsible for producing drawings, reports, and technical specifications during each design phase.
- Review documents to ensure design quality.
- Share architectural expertise and embed best practices within the team.
- Propose design optimization initiatives, demonstrating proactive involvement from a technical perspective.
- Assume final responsibility for architectural drawings and documentation.
Work Environment:
The position is based in Nijmegen with occasional travel to other office locations to facilitate project collaboration. The wider team works on projects that span local and international markets, creating environments where people can live, work, study, and recover comfortably.
Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of relevant experience and a completed degree in architectural engineering (WO/HBO).
- Affinity with utility and industrial construction (process accommodation).
- Experience with BIM projects using Revit and BIM360 (experience with Revisto is a plus).
- Ability to develop technical documents and specifications.
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, building materials, building codes, and detailing.
- Experience in preparing environmental permit applications and tender documentation.
- Background in project execution phases.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible attitude.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in both Dutch and English.
- Interest in sustainability.
- Able to make sound decisions and follow through efficiently.
