ROLE OUTLINE:
The Senior Auditor will be responsible for performing independent financial audits on companies to assess the rigor of the entity’s external reporting, as well as the strength of their control environment and corporate governance procedures.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audit engagement planning and preparation
- Audit of financial statements to ensure they fairly represent the company's financial position
- Testing of internal controls, the control environment, and identification of risks
- Ensuring client compliance with statutory reporting and regulations (ASIC and Corporations Act 2001)
- Providing advice on accounting standards and policies, specifically AASB standards
- Assisting with debt management and covenant compliance with financial institutions
- Assessing the financial health and solvency of companies
- Establishing budgetary cost controls for audit projects
- Reporting to the firm’s Partner
- Preparing financial statements in accordance with AASB requirements
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Understanding of risk management frameworks
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards
- High attention to detail and critical thinking
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
- Customer service orientation for internal and external clients
- Willingness to travel
- Intermediate skills in Excel and other financial software
- Professional qualification such as CA or CPA
