What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Head of Security Strategy & Architecture, the Senior Cyber Research Lead represents a great opportunity for an experienced individual to focus on targeted topics across the full breadth of capabilities within the field of cyber, and make a tangible difference to shaping the future of those capabilities as we evolve.
In this Role, you will
  • Create, own and manage a Group Information Security and Resilience (GISR) knowledge hub for use by the wider GISR team
  • Proactively conduct research on current and emergent threats, utilising sources to include but not limited to academia, industry publications, government agencies (national and international) etc
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security and Resilience Officer (CISRO) and GISR senior management to gain an understanding of their functions and to understand how you may be able to support them with targeted cyber research
  • Contribute to the creation of collateral for Board cyber education & awareness material
  • Create high-quality written and/or visual outputs
  • Provide thought leadership to the Group on Cyber through targeted research on emergent/trending areas of interest
  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to remain up to date with capabilities in use and the technology landscape of the organisation

Confirmed proficiency in critical thinking and leadership will make you stand out!. Understanding where & how to seek high quality data (papers, articles etc) for analysis is key to the role, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with limited direction.

You confront difficult circumstances in creative ways, balancing multiple competing priorities and executes accordingly.
Essential Qualifications
3rd level degree in a computing or other technical field, or equivalent experience.
The Below Are Desirable But Not Essential
  • SANS or any other equivalent security certifications e.g. CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CCSP, CCSK.
