The Senior Data Engineer will leverage their experience and strong technical skills in data engineering to drive innovation and provide technical direction to Architect/Delivery Lead/Product Owner. They will work hands-on across the end-to-end lifecycle of our data platforms, pipelines, and solutions, utilizing modern data and cloud tools, from contributing to design activities to ongoing maintenance and improvement.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Data Modellers, Business Analysts, Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and Visualization Engineers to understand analytical needs and translate them into scalable, cost-effective cloud data solutions.
- Design and implement data solutions and pipelines on enterprise platforms with built-in data quality checks and monitoring.
- Support and lead resolution of issues in data platforms and pipelines, minimizing data service disruptions.
- Conduct peer code reviews within the Data Engineering team to uphold high standards.
- Contribute to the development of the Data Engineering chapter, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for data solutions.
- Develop data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting.
- Implement best practices for data extraction, loading, storage, and transformation for performance and scalability.
- Guide business stakeholders on data asset utilization while ensuring security, privacy, and compliance.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of relevant data engineering experience
- Degree in a highly analytical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with DataStage, cloud-based and on-premise data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data modeling, and governance
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines and deployment
- Exposure to Teradata, Collibra, Alation, and data quality/security standards
- Familiarity with Power BI and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong product and agile mindset
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive problem-solving and resilience in navigating ambiguity
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership
