Senior Design Specialist – A/2D/3D Structural Designer
Location: Aiken, South Carolina
Projected Start Date: February 2, 2026
Clearance Required: Must be eligible to obtain Q Clearance
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required
Onsite/Remote: 100% Onsite – local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense
Contract Duration: 1 year with two potential 1-year extensions

Applicants must meet all the following requirements to be considered. Incomplete applications or candidates without these qualifications will not be reviewed.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Structural Designer, including detailing/design of building structures and commodity supports.
- Proficiency with Hexagon’s S3D 3D modeling software.
- Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for structural design.
- Ability to perform field walk-downs
- Candidates must produce quality documentation with strong attention to detail.
Nice to Have – Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOE (L or Q) clearance held within the last two years
- Previous experience at Savannah River Site (SRS) or a DOE facility
Impact
You will support Savannah River Nuclear Solutions in delivering structural design and engineering support for a range of high-impact infrastructure and facility projects vital to U.S. national security, nuclear safety, and federal operations.
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles to resolve construction challenges efficiently
- Stay current with structural design technologies and hardware
- Produce high-quality structural design documents
- Perform regular site walk-downs and inspections
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver engineering support for complex builds
Education Requirements:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline + 10–12 years’ work experience
- OR 12–16 years of practical structural design experience without a degree
- Candidate must meet onsite location requirements (no remote work allowed).
