Looking ahead, they plan to scale operations significantly, entering new markets and expanding product offerings.


To support this growth, they are seeking a Senior Financial Accounting Specialist to help streamline financial operations for their Dutch business entities, which include multiple manufacturing sites. This role will support both local and group-level finance functions and contribute to strategic initiatives.


Role Overview

In collaboration with the Financial Lead, this position manages the full accounting and financial planning cycle for two business units. The role is suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, creating structure, and improving financial systems and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Operations – Approx. 70%

  • Oversee daily accounting tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and cost tracking
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and ensure timely monthly closings
  • Approve journal entries and payment transactions
  • Monitor inventory and stock valuation
  • Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Support cash flow management and collection efforts
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure reliable financial forecasting
  • Allocate R&D-related internal labor costs as capital assets
  • Produce monthly financial statements and cash flow overviews

Financial Reporting – Approx. 20%

  • Maintain and update weekly KPIs focused on liquidity, inventory, and margins
  • Submit complete monthly financial reports including balance sheet and P&L
  • Generate ad-hoc financial insights as needed

Production Costing & Margin Analysis

  • Evaluate monthly margins and production costs
  • Investigate cost variances and suggest improvements to costing standards
  • Identify and analyze cost drivers and areas for savings
  • Periodically review and refine costing models with finance leadership

Planning & Forecasting – Approx. 8%

  • Conduct ongoing liquidity planning
  • Lead annual budget processes and year-end forecasting
  • Contribute to long-term business planning initiatives (up to 5 years)

Controls & Compliance – Approx. 2%

  • Strengthen internal controls and maintain sound accounting policies
  • Coordinate with auditors and support annual audit activities
  • Ensure alignment with transfer pricing protocols and tax regulations
  • Handle tax declarations, VAT, and statutory reporting
  • Familiarity with payroll administration, reconciliations, and tax filing is a plus


Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a financial accounting role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred
  • Experience in food or pharmaceutical industries considered an asset
  • Exposure to ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous
  • Understanding of cost accounting and audit processes
  • Familiarity with IFRS is a plus
