About the Role

We’re hiring a full-time Sydney-based work from home with limited onsite tasks Senior IT Consultant and Technical Lead to support our next stage of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on project delivery, internal systems, cybersecurity, and technical quality across our global delivery operation.

You’ll work from home to lead a small, capable team of senior project engineers, support key client initiatives, and provide oversight and guidance to our 24x7 global helpdesk. You’ll also work directly with a growth oriented CEO on pre-sales, helping design solutions, prepare quotes, and build technical documentation.

*It's essential you have a quiet, interruption free work space at home and that you can travel onsite 1-2 times per month in the Sydney area.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical delivery experience, excellent communication, and a curiosity about AI, automation, and the future of managed services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee infrastructure, migration, and cybersecurity projects
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a small project team
• Guide and support quality across our 24x7 helpdesk, led by our Service Manager in the Philippines
• Own internal systems and workflows, including staging, procurement, onboarding, and documentation
• Conduct internal security and technical audits;
• Review and improve documentation standards
• Prepare scopes of work, technical quotes, and client-facing proposals
• Participate in key client meetings and pre-sales discussions
• Assist with technical hiring and onboarding as the team grows
• Attend onsite installs or audits as required in metro Sydney (1–2 days/month)
• Facilitate staging and shipping of devices (1-2 days/month)

Required Experience

• 5+ years in a managed services environment focused on small to mid sized companies
• Proven success delivering complex projects and supporting modern IT environments
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender)
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD Connect
• Confident with networking concepts (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, routing)
• Hands-on experience with backup, DR, and security platforms
• Familiarity with PSA, RMM, and documentation systems
• Able to write and present technical scopes, quotes, and proposals to clients
• Skilled in scripting for automation (PowerShell preferred)
• Comfortable working with and delegating to distributed teams
• Must be based in Sydney and have a distraction-free home workspace with space for equipment staging (e.g. laptops, routers, firewalls)
• Able to attend site 1-2x on average per month for product installation and in person client meetings
