Mechanical Senior Engineer (Consultancy – Power & Renewable Projects):


Location: Mumbai / Bangalore / Noida


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across Power and Renewable Energy projects (Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and associated Balance of Plant systems).
  • Participate in the tendering phase, including preparation and review of technical scopes, BOQs, and cost estimates in line with client specifications.
  • Review and verify mechanical design documents, drawings, datasheets, and technical calculations from EPC contractors/Developers.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Evaluate and review fire protection, compressed air systems, and plant utilities related to power and renewable projects.
  • Provide technical support and clarifications during project execution, procurement, and commissioning stages.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure design consistency and interface alignment.
  • Conduct value engineering, constructability reviews, and design optimization for cost and performance improvements.
  • Review vendor drawings and data sheets for mechanical equipment (pumps, tanks, valves, pressure vessels, etc.).
  • Prepare technical reports, design review comments, and maintain project documentation and correspondence.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 10–15 years of experience in consultancy or owner’s engineer roles, with proven exposure to Power Generation, Transmission, or Renewable Energy (Solar / Wind / Hybrid) projects.
  • Hands-on experience in tender engineering, technical documentation, and design verification.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, HVAC design tools, and MS Office; knowledge of simulation or piping software (e.g., Caesar II) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system design, equipment selection, and installation practices in power and renewable sectors.
  • Familiarity with national and international standards (ASME, ASTM, IS, API, NFPA, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills.


  • Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, or hybrid power projects (especially BoP systems).
  • Exposure to EPC and design coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong attention to technical detail, quality, and safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
