John Sisk and Son are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist on an airside & landside civil engineering project at Dublin Airport.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure successful project delivery, maintain relationships, maximize commercial returns, and manage risks.

Responsibilities include:
  • Integrate the commercial strategy, amending with MQS to suit project development.
  • Liaise with and influence the team and construction process commercially.
  • Handle commercial and contractual issues, including preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting subcontractors, and managing final accounts.
  • Prepare and present forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
  • Manage valuations, generate certificates, and oversee payments.
  • Record and agree on variations, update projected final accounts, and prepare final accounts timely.
  • Engage in value engineering and design development.
  • Maintain and protect contractual entitlements.
  • Manage site records, admin, documentation, insurance, warranties, risks, and opportunities.
  • Review and update risk/opportunity plans and monitor changes.
  • Manage arising risks and opportunities.
Minimum requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in residential or commercial construction projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage people and situations sensitively for commercial advantage.
  • Commercially inventive and astute with ownership and awareness.
  • Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience mentoring and managing others.
  • Ability to be assertive and pragmatic with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of behavioural based safety, adjudication/dispute resolution, leadership, legal overview, legislation, industry trends, CVR, and presentation skills.
