Position: (Contract) Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Galway

About the Role As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be embedded in every phase of product development to champion quality across the board. Utilizing your independent voice, you will partner closely with Squad Leads, analysts, developers, business specialists, and external vendors to ensure that every feature meets our high standards. Your primary focus will be on building fully automated tests for each user story within each sprint, contributing to a robust CI/CD pipeline and ultimately delivering a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain fully automated test suites for each sprint story.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Squad Leads, analysts, developers, business specialists, vendors) to define and enforce quality standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Perform requirement analysis, defect tracking, and root cause analysis on defects.
  • Generate and maintain test reports, ensuring timely sign-off.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Agile processes and sprint deliveries.
  • Support Jenkins CI/CD by creating and maintaining jobs and pipelines.
  • Learn and adapt to in-house developed tools and practices.
  • Essential Skills & Expertise

  • Proven experience working within Agile methodologies.
  • Strong advocacy for quality engineering and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java development.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing.
  • Expertise in test automation using frameworks such as Karate and Rest Assured.
  • Familiarity with Cucumber/Gherkin for behavior-driven development.
  • Practical knowledge of build tools (Maven) and version control (Git).
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Solid background in requirement analysis, defect tracking, and test reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and tackle complex technical challenges.
  • High level of dedication, initiative, and passion for quality.
  • Comfortable working in technically challenging environments.
  • Experience with Jenkins CI/CD including job creation and maintenance.
  • Adaptability to new environments and the ability to quickly learn proprietary tools.
