Job Description:
Our client is seeking a
Staff Accountant
to join their growing accounting team. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their accounting skills in a hands-on environment with the opportunity to grow into a senior-level position. The Staff Accountant will support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities, while contributing to process improvements and upcoming system implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily accounting operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Process accounts payable invoices, ensure accurate GL coding, and assist with payment runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external vendors.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities including applying payments and maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with maintaining accurate general ledger accounts.
- Support process improvement initiatives and help implement new financial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics.
- Provide documentation and support for audits and ad-hoc accounting projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or currently pursuing degree.
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to accounts payable and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; experience with AS400 or Dynamics a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Eagerness to learn, take direction, and grow within a small but dynamic team environment.
