Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Lafayette Hospital + Clinics. This position performs accounting duties such as general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, billing oversight, financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The role also includes analysis of financial data and collaboration with various departments to ensure accuracy in billing, reimbursements, and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in medical/hospital billing, accounting, or a related financial role.
- Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
