Territory Sales Manager - Cleveland, OH

Our client, a leader in the industrial distribution space is looking for a talented and motivated Territory Sales Manager, based out of Cleveland, OH. You'll represent an established brand with over 120 years in business, 8 facilities spread throughout the US, offering various product lines, services and solutions ranging from fasteners, safety equipment, VMI & MRO solutions, supply chain management, consignment and more. You'll target various industries in a boundless territory including manufacturing/OEMs, aerospace, marine, auto, medical industries and many more. Join a fast-paced, high-volume environment where you will lead strategic sales initiatives to exceed targets, enhance customer satisfaction, and foster long-term client relationships. Leverage your expertise to drive new business growth, optimize existing accounts, and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions through consultative selling and face-to-face client interactions.

COMPENSATION: $90k-$115k+, pending experience + uncapped commissions/bonuses

TERRITORY: Greater Ohio

HYBRID MODEL: ~2 days in office / onsite customer visits

This role will build market position by qualifying new opportunities, locating the decision maker and developing, defining, negotiating and closing new business relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer-Centric Solutions: Develop and implement innovative strategies to meet customer needs, enhance satisfaction, and improve product offerings.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term client partnerships through exceptional communication, understanding unique business challenges, and providing tailored solutions.

Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities while expanding and nurturing existing accounts through direct client engagement.

Goal Achievement: Consistently exceed territory sales and gross margin goals by utilizing advanced sales techniques, leveraging CRM tools like Salesforce, and applying data-driven insights.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Sales Expertise: Skilled in cold calling, new business development, and consultative selling, with a focus on relationship-building and negotiation.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, paired with active listening to address client needs effectively.

Strategic Planning: Strong analytical abilities for market analysis, trend identification, and strategic decision-making.

Organizational Skills: Proven time management and adaptability to thrive in evolving, high-pressure environments.

Collaboration: Team-oriented mindset with a track record of fostering partnerships and driving results through effective collaboration.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis for informed decision-making.

Presentation Skills: Professional, engaging presentation abilities to effectively communicate ideas and solutions.

Results-Driven: Motivated to consistently achieve and exceed measurable targets and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful outside sales or business development experience (required).
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution industries (preferred).
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, including overnight travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for account management and lead generation.
