Role: UX QA tester
Key Responsibilities
- Test and validate developed screens against Figma wireframes and prototypes provided by the UX team, identifying discrepancies in layout, functionality, and user flow.
- Conduct thorough UX evaluations to spot improvement gaps, such as usability issues, accessibility problems, or inconsistencies that could impact user satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with the UX design team, developers, testing team, and release managers to communicate findings, suggest enhancements, and ensure smooth handoffs.
- Use your knowledge of front-end technologies (CSS and HTML) to diagnose why implemented features deviate from designs and provide actionable feedback to devs.
- Participate in team meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, contributing insights on user behavior and screen interactions.
- Document test cases, bugs, and UX recommendations in tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.
- Stay updated on UX best practices and emerging tools to continuously improve our testing processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Deep Understanding of UX Principles: Proven ability to think from the user's perspective, evaluating interfaces for intuitiveness, efficiency, and delight.
- Proficiency in Figma: Expert-level skills in navigating, inspecting, and comparing designs/prototypes to live implementations.
- Front-End Knowledge: Solid grasp of CSS and HTML (JavaScript a plus) to understand and troubleshoot UI rendering issues.
- Team Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written skills for articulating feedback, with a collaborative mindset to work across cross-functional teams.
- Attitude and Soft Skills: Top-notch listening skills, positive attitude, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should be adaptable, empathetic, and committed to quality.
- Experience: 1+ years in QA testing, preferably with a UX focus. Experience in testing web & mobile apps is ideal.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with tools like Browser DevTools, Figma, or accessibility testing software (e.g., WAVE, Axe).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) for UI validation.
- Knowledge of user research methods, like A/B testing or heatmaps.
