About Syneria

Syneria is an independent technical advisory company in wind and solar energy mainly active in France, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Our 3 core businesses are project design & wind/solar resource assessment, technical advisory, and construction management services. We are involved in the entire project life cycle, from development to operation and dismantling/repowering. The company was created in 2018 by 3 experienced engineers and has a team of 21 engineers based in Paris, Rennes, Montpellier in France, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The size and structure of the company allow for a high degree of work flexibility and offer many professional opportunities. You will be part of an experienced and multidisciplinary team and work on a wide range of projects in different countries. Your skills and motivation will make you a key person for the growth of the company.

About the Role

You will manage the delivery of consultancy and technical advisory services for wind or PV projects for a wide range of international clients: banks, investors, developers, operators, etc. These missions mainly consist of identifying and quantifying technical, contractual, and financial risks of wind or PV projects before they are financed or sold/acquired, and suggesting some solutions to reduce/mitigate the associated risk level. This project manager role provides a 360° view over the challenges of designing, building, and operating wind or PV power plants. To do so, you will rely on a multidisciplinary and passionate internal team to identify and mitigate these risks. Depending on the company’s activity and your mindset, you may also participate in other projects (business development, technology watch, negotiation of construction contracts, site inspections, ESG policy, etc.).

On a given project, you will be managing the project team and interface with the client to successfully deliver the following reviews in a timely manner:

  • Review of project’s authorizations;
  • Review of land securing;
  • Technical project review (in-depth technical evaluation of design and technologies);
  • Review of main project contracts (supply, construction, maintenance and operation, power purchase…) with a focus on technical and commercial matters;
  • Review of construction planning;
  • Review of the construction and O&M strategies;
  • Review of the construction and operation budgets (CAPEX and OPEX);
  • Quality control of the report (Syneria has built its reputation on delivering high-quality reports to its clients, and follows a strict internal review process for all its reports);
  • Management of the Clients’ expectations and relationship (Syneria has also built its reputation on maintaining a close relation with its clients in order to have a better understanding of their needs);
  • Liaising with project developers and project owners to ensure technical alignment and clarity on project specifications, timelines, and risk factors;
  • Management of internal budget.

Responsibilities

The different reviews and analysis will be shared between yourself and the project team. You will prepare a comprehensive technical report outlining findings, recommendations, and risk assessments for clients and stakeholders. Finally, you will also be responsible for drafting and following-up of the technical and commercial offer.

Technical and soft skills required

  • Passionate about Renewable Energy;
  • MEng Engineering degree, or similar (civil, mechanical or electrical preferably);
  • Technical experience in wind or solar PV sector (ideally you have already worked as a technical consultant);
  • Able to write and explain reports in English or French;
  • Leadership and good communication skills;
  • Team player and deal maker spirit;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel;
  • Curiosity and proactivity;
  • Developed team spirit;
  • Very comfortable/fluent in French and English.

Syneria's Benefits

  • A competitive salary related to your experience;
  • Lunch vouchers (13€/day, 50% covered by Syneria);
  • Employer's health insurance (100% covered by Syneria);
  • Public transport travel card (100% covered by Syneria);
  • Annual profit share scheme;
  • Remote work possible (1-2 days/week);
  • Possibility to work from other Syneria’s offices from time to time.
