Societe Generale Madrid is looking for an Analyst to reinforce the local team of Advisory & Financing Group (AFG). This department belongs to the Investment Banking Division (IBD) and is at the heart of strategic dialogue with key corporate clients, providing debt & rating advisory, as well as delivering complex financing in event-driven situations (M&A, spin-off, IPO, restructuring). The team originates and underwrites acquisition and strategic finance deals and executes debt and rating advisory mandates.

Role OverviewThe candidate will be involved in the origination and execution of acquisition finance and/or rating advisory mandates, actively providing integrated debt structuring, capital structure, rating advisory, and acquisition finance solutions to key clients, in close cooperation with coverage and corporate finance teams.
Main Responsibilities- Client Engagement & Mandate Development: Assist in pitching to targeted clients, guiding on debt structuring, capital structure, debt raising, and rating matters.
- Multi-product Pitch & Execution: Support in multi-product pitches and deal execution.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster cooperation between AFG and other GBIS lines to offer innovative financing and rating solutions.
- Opportunity Identification: Recognize cross-selling opportunities within SG's product range.
- Produce or assist in producing financial models, marketing materials, pitches, and credit/rating analyses.
- Assist in due diligence processes.
- Assess transaction feasibility, including underwriting and capital commitments.
- Familiarize with mandates, term sheets, and legal documents, in collaboration with counsel.
- Support timely deal execution, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
- Supervise interns, ensuring quality and deadlines are met.
- Maintain awareness of documentation standards and act responsibly within credit risk limits.
- Contribute to compliance with internal and regulatory procedures, including confidentiality and KYC.
- Report to management on ongoing transactions, exposure management, and escalate issues as needed.
- Promote AFG and its products within SG and to clients.
- Stay updated on market, sector methodologies, and product developments.
- Be aware of operational risks and adhere to bank guidelines.
- Participate in recruitment, appraisal, and development of junior staff and interns.
- Provide guidance and support, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking or similar roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Strong credit/rating knowledge and origination skills.
- Proficient in financial modeling.
- Ability to work autonomously on mandates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Effective time and project management skills.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and initiative-taking.
