Job Purpose: -
The Assistant Vice President – Technology is responsible for leading and executing the bank’s strategic initiatives across PRIME, Cards Issuing, Acquiring, Settlement, and Clearing platforms. The role carries full end‑to‑end accountability for delivery, platform stability, technology governance, and compliance.
The AVP will drive technology strategy execution, ensure uninterrupted and resilient system operations, strengthen compliance and audit readiness, and manage complex, cross‑functional programs aligned with the bank’s digital and operational roadmap.
This includes overseeing large‑scale platform enhancements, managing vendor and stakeholder relationships at senior levels, ensuring adherence to regulatory and scheme mandates, and governing the full lifecycle of technology changes—from requirements to production support.
The role also carries responsibility for budget planning and monitoring, risk management, operational process optimization, and building high‑performance engineering and support teams.
Key Result Areas: --
Strategic & Execution Leadership
Lead execution of the bank’s technology strategy for PRIME and Cards platforms, ensuring alignment with business growth, regulatory expectations, and operational excellence.
Own end to end delivery of major transformation initiatives, including system modernization, platform upgrades, and integration programs.
Drive roadmap planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and governance across multiple streams.
Operational Stability & Resilience
Own overall system stability, availability, and resiliency for PRIME and cards ecosystem—ensuring uninterrupted 24x7 service.
Establish and enforce robust monitoring frameworks, automation enhancements, and proactive issue detection.
Govern incident, problem, and change management processes to ensure adherence to SLAs and minimize risk.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Ownership
Lead compliance readiness and implementation of mandates from Visa, Mastercard, Central Bank, and internal audit.
Ensure full technology governance, documentation quality, and audit traceability across systems and processes.
Identify and mitigate operational, technology, and regulatory risks.
Program, Budget & Vendor Management
Manage project and operational budgets, ensuring optimal utilization, forecasting accuracy, and cost efficiency.
Negotiate and govern vendor contracts, ensuring performance delivery and compliance with service obligations.
Drive productivity improvements, automation benefits, and cost saving initiatives.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor cross functional teams, including engineering, support, QA, and vendor resources.
Collaborate with Business, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams at senior levels to drive outcomes.
Present program updates, risks, and decisions to senior management and steering committees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
10+ years of relevant experience in IT with production & Solution development support experience.
Excellent analytical skills.
Good oral / written communication skills.
Hands-on experience in PRIME
Technically expertise in any acquiring systems, Issuing system, Settlement and reconciliation.
Good cards Issuing/acquiring business knowledge
