We’re Hiring | Head / Senior Manager – NPD Strategic Sourcing
Are you a strategic sourcing leader with strong exposure to New Product Development (NPD) and R&D collaboration , passionate about building next-generation Electric Vehicle solutions ? This is a high-impact role with ownership from concept to launch.
Role Overview
As the Head / Senior Manager – NPD Strategic Sourcing , you will lead sourcing strategy for new EV programs while working closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program teams to enable innovation, cost competitiveness, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & NPD
- Lead strategic sourcing for NPD programs across EV systems and aggregates
- Define make–buy decisions, supplier strategy, and localization roadmaps
- Drive early supplier involvement (ESI) during concept and design stages
- Lead supplier selection, onboarding, development, and long-term agreements
R&D Collaboration & Technology Enablement
- Identify emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to support product innovation
- Collaborate with R&D teams, suppliers, and external research institutions to enable advanced solutions
- Support experiments, data analysis, and translation of R&D outcomes into manufacturable and cost-effective solutions
- Enable intellectual property development (patents, technical disclosures, publications) in collaboration with internal teams
Cost, Quality & Program Excellence
- Own should-costing, VA/VE, and target cost achievement for NPD parts
- Ensure supplier readiness for APQP, PPAP, and SOP milestones
- Identify sourcing risks early and implement mitigation plans
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor and guide sourcing teams on strategic and technology-driven sourcing
- Present sourcing strategy, technology roadmap alignment, cost status, and risks to senior leadership
What We’re Looking For
- 15–20 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / NPD within Automotive / EV / Powertrain / Mechatronics domain
- B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering (PG in Supply Chain / Operations preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier ecosystems
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, localization, cost management, and technology sourcing
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work in a fast-paced EV environment.
