Lead Analytics Engineer (Hands-on Data Lead) York 4 days on-site Upto £90,000 + Benefits The Role This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail while shaping how a business uses data end-to-end. You’ll sit at the centre of analytics, engineering, and business decision-making — helping a well-established, growing organisation scale its data capability as it looks to significantly grow over the next 5 years. What You’ll Be Doing Leading delivery of data and analytics solutions from requirements through to production Staying hands-on with data modelling, pipelines, and reporting where needed Driving the evolution of the data platform, including a move to Microsoft Fabric Building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines and models Delivering high-quality MI, dashboards, and insight to support business decisions Partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate requirements into data solutions Setting standards across data modelling, reporting, and engineering Improving data quality, governance, and trust in reporting What They’re Looking For Strong experience across analytics + data engineering (not purely one or the other) Hands-on capability with: SQL data modelling ETL / ELT pipelines Experience delivering BI / reporting solutions (Power BI or similar) Comfortable working with stakeholders and translating business needs into data solutions Experience working in a cloud-based data environment Nice to Have Exposure to Microsoft Fabric Experience working with CRM / customer data Background in scaling data platforms or modernising data estates Why This Role Genuine hands-on leadership role (not just strategy) Opportunity to shape a data function during a major transformation Direct impact on commercial and operational decision-making Small enough team to make a difference, big enough to have real scale Clear growth journey over the next 3–5 years The Setup Based in York (modern office, 4 days per week) Collaborative, cross-functional environment Stable business with strong growth plans globally Next Steps If you’re someone who enjoys owning data end-to-end, from pipelines through to insight & wants to play a key role in scaling a data capability, this is worth a conversation.
