Architectural Designer / Technologist

Job Description:

Sky Sight Inc. is looking for a talented and detail-oriented individual for the firm’s Architectural Designer role (Full-time, Permanent). As an Architectural Designer, you will work on a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, supporting the development, coordination, and delivery of permit and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, develop, coordinate, and revise architectural drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD software
• Collaborate with team members to develop accurate, coordinated, and detailed technical design and construction documentation
• Prepare documentation in accordance with local building codes, industry standards, and client requirements
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve design and technical challenges
• Maintain and update project files, Revit libraries, templates, and internal documentation standards
• Assist with permit application packages, consultant coordination, and responses to municipal review comments
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, collect field information, and support project coordination, as required

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology
• Minimum of 3+ years industry experience at an architectural, building design, engineering, or relevant AEC firm working with the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (BIM)
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), including Part 9, with working knowledge of Part 3 requirements and construction detailing
• Experience preparing highly detailed construction documentation for single and multi-family residential dwellings, as well as, small-scale commercial and mixed-use projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, file management, and project coordination tools
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to manage deadlines and occasional schedule flexibility, as required to support project deliverables

Assets:

• Current member of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO)
• Completion of Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) Examinations: House, Small Buildings, and Legal
• Experience in photorealistic 3D rendering using Epic Games Twinmotion
• Experience with Autodesk AEC Collection tools including AutoCAD, ReCap Pro, Navisworks, Civil 3D, etc.
• Experience working with LiDAR point cloud data and 3D photogrammetry / reality capture models of buildings and sites 
• Experience conducting site visits

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year (commensurate with experience), plus bonus
