Job Description – Area Sales Manager (ASM)-Baby care products-HYDERABAD
Industry: Baby Care / FMCG (Diapers, wipes, baby towels,Sheets etc.)
Location: HYDERABAD
Experience: Minimum 7 years as a ASM in Baby care category
Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales, distribution, and market share for baby care products across the assigned territory in Karnataka. The role involves managing distributors, handling a field sales team, and executing channel strategies.
➡️ ASM is mainly responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding distribution, and building brand presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Drive primary & secondary sales across General Trade & Modern Trade
- Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions
2. Distributor & Channel Management
- Appoint and manage distributors / stockists
- Ensure product availability and stock replenishment
- Build strong relationships with retailers, supermarkets, and pharmacies
3. Team Handling
- Manage Sales Officers / Territory Sales Executives
- Set targets and track team performance
- Provide training, coaching, and field support
4. Market Development
- Expand distribution network in HYDERABAD
- Increase outlet coverage and product visibility
- Execute trade promotions, schemes, and activations
5. Merchandising & Execution
- Ensure proper product placement and visibility
- Implement branding and POS materials in outlets
- Monitor competitor activity and pricing
6. Reporting & Analytics
- Maintain daily/weekly sales reports (DSR, MIS)
- Analyze market trends and competitor performance
- Forecast demand and plan inventory
Key Skills Required
- Strong sales experience in baby care preferred
- Distributor & channel management expertise
- Team handling and leadership skills
- Negotiation & communication skills
- Market analysis & territory planning
- Ability to work in field-intensive role
Educational Qualification
- Graduate (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in:
- Baby care products (diapers, wipes, lotions)
- Personal care / hygiene products
- Prior experience handling Karnataka territory is a big advantage
Salary Range (Karnataka Market)
- Maximum gross up to ₹6 LPA
- Incentives + Travel allowance + Performance bonus
