Assistant General Manager / Front of House Manager

Colette is a French restaurant in the heart of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, offering classic and contemporary French cuisine alongside a thoughtful wine program and well-crafted cocktails. We are dedicated to warm, engaging hospitality and a refined yet approachable dining experience.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager or Front of House Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality leader who leads from the floor, protects the guest experience, and supports both service excellence and strong business performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Uphold brand standards and service levels to protect the guest experience while positively impacting sales and controlling costs
- Ensure exceptional guest service in all areas; investigate and resolve guest concerns with care, turning challenges into return visits
- Lead and oversee Front of House staff by providing clear direction, ongoing feedback, performance expectations, and formal performance reviews
- Manage daily shifts, including decision-making, scheduling, planning, and execution, while ensuring consistently high-quality food and service
- Maintain a professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards
- Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence on the floor and actively participate in service
- Build genuine relationships with guests and regulars through thoughtful, personalized hospitality
- Lead engaging, motivating, and educational pre-shift meetings
- Assist the General Manager with financial and administrative responsibilities, including invoices, reporting, and scheduling
- Support recruitment, hiring, training, and development of a strong FOH team
- Resolve team conflicts professionally and constructively
- Support private events and bookings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 1+ years of management experience in an upscale or fine dining environment
- Extensive fine dining and Front of House experience
- Strong understanding of service standards, dining room flow, and guest relations
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams to high standards
- Stable and progressive work history with a strong work ethic
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using POS and scheduling systems such as OpenTable, SpotOn, Teamwork, Tripleseat, and MarginEdge
