Job Description
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities:
1. Assisting Business director in
formulation of Strategic Plan /
directions for Business
i. Evaluating / analysing the trends of business
environment which hither to includes competitive
situation, trends in competing fibres, relative positioning of
competitors regulatory environment etc
ii. Aforesaid
evaluation / analysis culminates into identifying trends
relevant for our product, extrapolating them, doing a
SWOT analysis, with a view to provide the relevant inputs
to Business director in formulation of Strategic Plan /
direction.
2. Driving Planning & Budgeting
exercise for Indian Units of VSF &
Pulp.
i. Based on the strategic plan as finalised above as well
as prevailing trends and broad directions suggested by
Business Director, issuing guidelines to units for
assumptions to be made w.r.t various performance
parameters to units.
ii. Conducting Multiple linear
regression exercise for arriving at the Projected volumes
and interacting with Mktg people to finalise the volumes
based on regression exercise.
iii. Co-ordinating with units
and addressing their queries / doubts w.r.t P&B working.
iv. Examining the P&B document as received from units
and suggesting changes to be incorporated
v.Based on unit P&B, preparation of Business P&B.
vi.Building up of scenarios about future projections based
on likely future trends of Business / economic, regulatory
environment.vii. Interacting with various corporate cells
(Centrall Cell, Central Finance Group, Corporate Finance
division, corporate strategy cell) as well as external
consultants appointed by corporate cells with a view to
put forward the business view point about P&B and
addressing their concerns / queries of various corporate
cells w.r.t P&B
viii. Preparation of P&B presentation, under
broad directions of Business Director, to be made before
Chairman containing the sum & substance of entire P&B
exercise including Strategic Plan, profitability projections,
3. Driving the Annual Compensation
Exercise for Pulp & Fibre Business
with particular emphasis on Indian
Units
i. Determining the Should Be payout (fixed increase +
Variable pay) based on linkages to actual PBDIT.
ii.Working out various options w.r.t payment of Fixed
Increase and forwarding the same to Business director for
his approval
iii. Co-ordinating with units about variable
payout calculation and addressing their queries
iv.Ensuring correctness of variable pay calculations as recd
from units
v. Forwarding final recommendations w.r.t
Variable Pay to Business director for approval
vi.Administering the Employee Compensation Data basevii.
Issuing guidelines / formats to all units for ensuring
uniformity in compensation working as desired by CHRD.
viii. Ensuring correctness of workings as per CHRD
formats, as recd from units
ix. Acting as link between Units & Business director for resolving their concerns /
problems w.r.t compensation issue.
x. Interacting with CHRD about compensation proposal and addressing the
queries of CHRD
xi. Assisting Business Director in Misc
compensation related matters including fixation of salaries
of employees being transferred overseas, issuance of
notes to employee about mechanism of salary increase
etc.
4. Manage Investor relations of
Indian VSF Units
i. Analysis of results (Quarterly, Half yearly, Annual)
ii.Preparation of Investors presentation, bringing out the
salient points of business working of a particular period.
iii.Administer data base incorporating Monthly trends of
business performance by co-ordinating the same with all
unitsiv. Addressing the queries of CFD from time to time
5. Analyse / Assess status of
Competitors with a view to enable
Business Director to formulate
appropriate counter strategy
i. Administer data base incorporating all relevant
information's w.r.t the competitors by collating them from
different sources
ii. Discern / Analyse the aforesaid
information to bring forth the main features of competitors
operations and benchmarking them with our own
operations
6. Supporting Business Director in
analysing & assessing acquisition
opportunities
i. Collecting / assembling the relevant data from the
possible sources and testing it for its veracity before
analysing the proposal.
ii. Carry out initial due diligence &
analyse the viability of the proposal (Financial and other
wise) by using various analytical tools (Projected
discounted Cash flows, Ratio analysis) and make
necessary recommendations to Business director
7. Supporting Business Director in
analysis of matters involving
commercial / accounting issues
i. Doing the relevant analysis using the necessary
techniques after collecting / assembling the relevant data.
8. Misc work
i. Co-ordinate with CFD & Indian Units for availing
concessional loans as available to Textile Industry
(TUFS)
ii. Support Business director in preparation of
Various representations to Govt agencies
iii. Preparation
of Presentations to be made before Chairman as part of
review meeting from time to time
