What We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy, guest-focused restaurant environment and is passionate about building strong teams, delivering exceptional service, and supporting daily operations at a high level.
As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with ownership and the General Manager to oversee front-of-house operations, maintain service standards, support staff development, and help drive the overall success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations and service execution
- Lead, coach, and motivate FOH staff to maintain exceptional hospitality standards
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Ensure smooth communication between FOH and BOH teams
- Maintain service standards, cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency
- Handle guest relations and resolve issues professionally and proactively
- Assist with scheduling, labor management, payroll review, and inventory controls
- Support opening/closing procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Help cultivate a positive, energetic, and team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Passion for hospitality and guest experience
- Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in fast-paced environments
- Experience with staff training and team development
- Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling platforms, and restaurant operations
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess NYC Food Handlers Certification
