Assistant Groundskeeper

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA private estate on Washington/Roxbury line, CT is seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Groundskeeper. You will assist the Groundskeeper with all phases of lawn and grounds care, working alongside the groundskeeping crew. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who takes pride in maintaining beautiful grounds.ScheduleMonday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm (8-hour shift)Occasional overtime and Saturday availability as neededKey ResponsibilitiesMow, trim, and edge lawns; weed and maintain planted areasPlant grass, shrubs, and bushes; water and apply fertilizer as neededRake, mulch, prune, and weed whack grounds on a regular scheduleSweep walkways and use leaf blower to clear driveways and pathsCut small tree limbs and maintain overall property appearanceAssist with cleaning, basic upkeep, and identifying needed repairsFollow all safety rules; wear provided PPE when requiredReport completed work to supervisor orally or via written work orderQualificationsMinimum age 18 with a valid U.S.

Driver’s License (required)2–3 years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience requiredExperience in operating small engine equipment including chainsaw, weed whacker, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and push/walk behind/zero turn ride-on mowers, walk behind blowers, ride on fertilizers.Ability to commute to Washington, CT (required)Able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance; comfortable working outdoors in all conditionsAble to read safety instructions and communicate clearly with staff and supervisorsMust be legally authorized to work in the USA (required)
