Assistant Kitchen Department Head

The Role Reporting to the Kitchen Department Head, the Kitchen Assistant Department Head provides hands on support to the Kitchen Department's daily operation and management to ensure that it is functioning under good conditions. The Opportunity Reporting to the Kitchen Department Head, the Kitchen Assistant Department Head provides hands on support to the Kitchen Department's daily operation and management to ensure that it is functioning under good conditions. You Will: Provides hands on support and assistance to the Department Head in the following aspects: Manage department performance and attain departmental goals Manage and supervise department daily operation and staff performance Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, guidance to department staff Supervise Kitchen Deli Assistants, ensure fair distribution of work and daily checklists are strictly executed Promoting teamwork and create an inclusive working environment Familiar with products ordering , its process and execution Follow company's pricing principle and partner closely with the pricing strategies of Merchandising Department Conduct quality and inventory control, responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the department Oversea product quality, food safety, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department Maintain and update UPC pricing, verify and ensure product labeling are properly done Ensure (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others) are properly packaged and displayed Lead by example by performing all hands on duties required in the Kitchen Department You Should Have/Be: Good communication skills in English, proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities. Basic understanding of profit and loss management, has ability to interpret data and market information. Good computer skills in MS Well versed with workplace health and safety protocols.

Has a keen interest and knowledge in merchandise management and implementation, including inventory control and promotional strategies. Familiar with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels accurately. Great organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
