Assistant Manager - Wind Resource Assessment (WRA)Location: Chennai
TÜV SÜD South Asia is looking for a technically strong and experienced professional to join our Renewable Division. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in wind resource analysis, energy yield assessment, lenders' engineering, and project management, with strong client-facing skills.
Key Requirements5+ years of experience in Renewable Energy. (Wind)5+ years of hands-on Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) experienceStrong skills in:Wind speed, direction, turbulence intensity & shear analysisMeteorological Mast & LiDAR data validation and interpretationLenders' engineering & M&A technical assignmentsProven capability in:Annual Energy Production (AEP) estimationP50 / P75 / P90 energy yield assessmentNet capacity factor calculationEnergy yield uncertainty analysisProficiency in industry-standard tools:WAsP, WindPRO, OpenWind, WindFarmer, MeteodynGIS applications, Advanced MS ExcelStrong knowledge of renewable industry standards, compliance frameworks, & best practicesExperience supervising met mast erection, wind measurement campaigns & project site activities (Wind/Solar/Storage)
Key ResponsibilitiesLead wind data collection, validation & statistical analysisPerform comprehensive Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) and Energy Yield Assessment (EYA)Prepare bankable technical reports & presentations for developers, investors, lenders & regulatorsConduct feasibility studies & technical due diligenceProvide recommendations on site suitability, turbine layout optimization & micro-sitingOversee renewable energy projects (Wind/Solar/Storage) with planning, risk management & schedulingRepresent the WRA team in client and regulatory meetingsDrive customer retention, technical discussions & operational performanceMonitor and achieve project collection targets aligned with business objectives
Education & QualificationsB.E. in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)M.Tech in Energy (Preferred)Minimum 5+ years' experience in the power / renewable energy sector
