Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Sales Manager based in Mumbai. The Assistant Sales Manager will support the sales team in identifying client needs, planning strategies, and driving business growth. Responsibilities include client acquisition, relationship management, market analysis, providing product demonstrations, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve sales targets.
Salary: INR 7-9 lacs
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales of analytical and laboratory instruments across assigned accounts and territories
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within pharma companies, CROs, labs, and research institutions
- Manage the complete sales cycle—from lead generation to negotiation and closure
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (QA/QC heads, procurement teams, lab managers)
- Understand client requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Technical & Solution Selling
- Coordinate with internal technical teams for product demonstrations, trials, and installations
- Present product capabilities and value propositions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Performance & Reporting
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline tracking, and reporting
- Provide market feedback on competition, pricing, and customer needs
Candidate Profile:
- 4+ years of experience in Pharma / Analytical Equipment sales
- Strong B2B sales experience with a proven track record of achieving targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- High ownership mindset with the ability to work independently
Preferred:
- Instrumentation / Engineering background
- Experience selling particle counters, lab instruments, or similar technical equipment
- Existing network within pharma companies, testing labs, or research organizations
