Job description Job Title : Assistant Vice President- Public Sector Advisory Job Location: Noida Job Summary:This position is to build and lead the Public Sector Advisory as a new Strategic Business Unit/Practice Area. The services offered through the Unit would be addition to the service portfolio offered by Sambodhi. The unit is envisioned for providing be-spoke support to national and state governments on catalyse service delivery and effectively deliver mandates to the citizenry.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing vision, strategic growth, project excellence, and thought leadership to the Strategic Business Unit.
Key responsibilities would include relationship building with state counterparts, driving revenue generation through business development, high-quality proposal design, constituting and leading teams to deliver the mandates and effective client engagement.
The role requires expertise in engagement with national and state government and supporting them for Program Lifecyle Management. The individual should have experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams as part of Project Management Units, Technical Assistance or similar consulting mandates supporting government departments and organizations-commissioned by range of stakeholders- state, philanthropies or multi/bilateral funding agencies. Thematic understanding of focus development sectors is expected.
Essential FunctionsThe candidate will perform the following key functions:
Crafting a vision and strategy for the Business Unit Articulate a vision for the Business Unit aligned to the emerging needs with the changing development landscape and the role of the governments thereinDevelop strategic plans aligned with the visionspecifying milestones to be achieved for the Unit and performance measurement frameworkDesign partnerships strategies for building long-term partnerships of mutual valueDriving Revenue Growth for the Business Unit and OrganizationConceptualize, develop and pitch innovative ideas for enhancing effectiveness of government programs and enhance impact at scale.Develop, write, and present business proposals to stakeholders in alignment with requirements of advisory services as may be warranted to meet the performance objectives of state departments or organizationsEngage with prospective clients for business development opportunities and respond effectively to Requests for Proposals.Prospect, foster and nurture relationships with key stakeholders towards the goal of prospect and pipeline managementAchieving Excellence in Project Delivery and ManagementEnsure the quality and consistency of project deliverables by implementing robust quality control processes and integrating global best practices across all client deliverables.Lead effective resource planning and allocation to optimize operational efficiency and project delivery as well support program stakeholders in troubleshooting to ensure effective project execution.Drive the overall operating profitability of the business unit, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with strategic goals
Engagement and Potential Development of Team and OrganizationContribute as a thought leader by designing and contextualizing innovative methodologies and best practices in the service portfolioEnsure effective team utilization and engagement across all organizational functions to enhance productivity and performanceProvide mentoring and professional development support to junior and mid-level research staff, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
Enhance Branding and visibility of the Business UnitPublishing industry-focused white papers or case studies and thought leadership articles annually to establish credibility. (Thought Leadership)Organizing or participating in key industry events, including webinars, conferences, and panel discussions, to enhance SBU visibility. (Networking)Develop and implement social media strategy in close coordination with corporate communications unit In addition to the functions listed here, similar duties and responsibilities consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities may also be assigned.
Essential QualificationsAdvance Masters / Masters in Management, Public Policy, Social Work, Development Management of equivalent from Premier Institutions/Universities.10-16 years of work experience in Government Advisory/ Public Sector Advisory/Consulting servicesAt least 5 years of experience in leadership/as team leader role in similar industry rolesProven track record of partnership building and delivery of consulting/advisory services

In-depth knowledge of public sector advisory services landscape with strong thematic understanding of focus and emerging sectors including climate change, AI etc. Demonstrated leadership qualities to succeed in an entrepreneurial roleAbility to work independently, Strong management and problem-solving capabilities High level of involvement, engagement, and ownership in designing and implementing technical assistance and government advisory projects.Strong ability to build and nurture strategic relationships with clients and stakeholders working in the state capacity development space and fostering collaboration and long-term partnerships.Demonstrated competence in handling team, strong interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities and time management skills and ability to prioritize.
