What is expected from this role to start with?
1. Build & Lead the SDR Function
- Hire, train, and manage a team of 1–2 Sales Development Executives (scaling over time)
- Set clear KPIs for activity, conversion rates, and SQL quality
- Coach SDRs on outreach, objection handling, and discovery
2. Own Lead Generation & Outreach
- Design and execute multi-channel outbound campaigns:
- Email, LinkedIn, Cold calling
- Continuously refine messaging based on market response
3. Drive Qualification Excellence
- Use structured qualification frameworks i.e. MEDDICC
- Ensure only high-quality, sales-ready leads are passed to on-site Sales Managers
- Maintain strict adherence to Ideal Customer Profile and disqualification criteria
4. Ensure Seamless Sales Handoff
- Establish a structured handoff process to on-site Sales Managers
- Maintain detailed CRM notes, call summaries, and context
- Enable warm introductions to prospects to maximize conversion
5. Process, Tools & Reporting
- Own CRM hygiene and pipeline tracking using HubSpot
- Track and report on:
- Lead-to-meeting conversion
- Meeting-to-Sales Qualified Leads (SQL) conversion
- SQL-to-deal conversion (with sales team feedback)
- Optimize workflows, sequences, and automation
6. Align with On-Site Sales & Marketing
- Run weekly feedback loops with Sales Managers
- Continuously refine targeting, messaging, and qualification criteria
- Align campaigns with business priorities and industry focus
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in B2B sales development / inside sales using offshore-onshore sales models
- Exposure to at least one target industry - Banking, financial services, insurance, fintech
- At least 2+ years managing teams
- Proven track-record in consulting / technology / data service offerings and in articulating value is a must
- Strong experience in outbound prospecting and lead qualification with a consultative approach
- Proven track-record in global markets (preferably Singapore / APAC / US)
