What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and execute strategies to engage individual philanthropists and family foundations, especially in tech and innovation sectors
- Lead the full lifecycle of major gift development, from initial prospect identification to proposal design and closing
- Utilize AI tools for prospect research and donor communications while ensuring content accuracy and alignment with the organization’s mission
- Create compelling donor-facing materials that clearly communicate complex technical and programmatic work
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, ensuring systematic cultivation and long-term stewardship
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 6-8 years of experience in resource mobilization, development, or philanthropic partnerships with a track record of securing major gifts ($100K+)
- Access to networks of high-net-worth individual philanthropists, especially within tech and Silicon Valley communities
- Proven experience managing complex gift cycles, including proposal development and donor stewardship
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical content into compelling narratives
- Experience in global nonprofit, humanitarian, or development contexts with an understanding of the philanthropic landscape
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in family office, foundation, or corporate philanthropy roles
- Existing relationships within humanitarian, development, or social innovation networks
- Background in the tech industry or innovation
