Litigation Associate (4–6 Years Call)
Walker Law – Toronto, ON
Walker Law is a boutique litigation firm in Toronto seeking a Litigation Associate with 4–6 years of experience to join our team. This is a new hybrid position created to support our growing practice with 2-3 days in office attendance.
This role is ideal for a lawyer looking to gain strong, hands‑on advocacy experience and work closely with experienced litigators on complex matters.
You will work on a variety of litigation files with a focus on property disputes, construction liens, and fraud. You will take ownership of files, attend court regularly, and independently handle key steps in the litigation process.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from start to finish
- Conduct examinations for discovery and other out‑of‑court examinations independently
- Draft pleadings, motion materials, and written advocacy
- Appear on motions and, where applicable, appellate matters (including the Court of Appeal)
- Work closely with senior lawyers on complex cases
- Support client development and contribute to firm growth
- Mentor junior lawyers and students
Requirements
- 4–6 years of litigation experience
- Direct experience in property disputes, construction liens, and/or fraud
- Experience arguing motions; appellate experience is an asset
- Trial experience is an asset
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Compensation & Benefits
We offer generous compensation and benefits package. This is a new position. We do not use AI‑based tools to assist in the screening, assessment, or selection of applicants for this role.
