Job Description
We are looking for an aspiring product leader to join our growing team. As an Associate Product Manager, you’ll be the vital bridge between business strategy and technical execution for our Mortgage and Insurance verticals. You’ll be embedded in a cross‑functional squad, turning complex problems into seamless digital experiences for our customers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and analyze: Conduct customer research, analyze market trends, and run experiments to identify clear product opportunities that improve the customer experience and drive results.
- Drive delivery: Support day‑to‑day agile execution, write high‑quality user stories, manage the backlog in Jira, and keep the engineering team unblocked and aligned.
- Shape the roadmap: Contribute ideas to the roadmap, help prioritize, and advocate for the work that matters most.
- Collaborate: Work closely with design, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate high‑level ideas into clear requirements and actionable plans.
- Measure and iterate: Define success metrics for features, monitor performance post‑launch, and drive continuous improvement based on data.
- Build domain expertise: Develop a strong understanding of the Canadian mortgage and insurance landscape by staying informed on competitors, trends, and real pain points customers face.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Post‑secondary education in Business, Technology, Design, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in a product, tech, or strategy role (internships and co‑ops count).
- Strong communicator – equally comfortable talking to an engineer and a business stakeholder.
- Customer‑first mindset – you’ll start from the customer and work backwards towards a solution.
- Organized and detail‑oriented – able to manage competing priorities while keeping everyone aligned.
- Curious about personal finance, mortgages, or insurance – you don't need to be an expert, but you care about the space.
- Excited about AI and where it's going – we're actively building AI‑powered experiences and you'll be part of that.
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira, Asana, or similar.
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, or a high‑growth environment.
CULTURE FIT
- Members first – we prioritise the interests and needs of our members above all else. We solve member pain points and focus on member satisfaction. We start with members, and end with the P&L.
- Growth mindset – we set ambitious goals and challenge the status quo. We take responsible risks and are accountable for our actions.
- Better together – we are One team with One common goal. We make our footprint bigger than our foot, leave our egos at the door, and support each other to achieve great results as One company.
- Run after problems – we tackle problems head on and focus on finding solutions. Obstacles are seen as opportunities for growth and innovation. We have the hard conversations and choose the harder right over the easier wrong, and we do it with a smile.
- Measure, learn, iterate, innovate – we focus on getting things done. We measure what matters, iterate, learn, and iterate many times in a data‑driven way, which is how we innovate.
JOB PERKS
- Competitive salary: we know it’s expensive to live/work in Canada.
- Remote‑first organization: we love opportunities to get together as a team, but for the most part we offer our employees the flexibility to work anywhere in Canada.
- Flexible hours: Enjoy a couple more hours of sleep in the morning, if you want.
- Benefits: Health is wealth! A benefits package with no employee contribution required.
- Other perks: RRSP matching program, individual training allowance, fun team socials (remote AND in‑person), and more!
The estimated compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $105,000.
