About the roleWe are looking for a social-first storyteller and content creator to help shape how Science Centre Singapore shows up in culture, in conversation and in people’s feeds.This is not a routine content role. It is an opportunity to help evolve a beloved Singapore institution into a more culturally relevant and globally resonant attraction through compelling storytelling, platform-native content and strong digital instincts.We are looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes social media and content. Someone who instinctively understands what makes people stop, watch, share and care.
Someone who is naturally creative, plugged into culture, fluent across platforms, and excited by the challenge of turning exhibitions, events, partnerships, campaigns and everyday moments into content that feels timely, relevant and worth talking about.You should be equal parts content creator, storyteller, social thinker and operator. You should be comfortable generating ideas, writing sharp copy, capturing or shaping content on the ground, and working closely with agencies and creative partners to push the work to a higher standard.You will support the development and execution of Science Centre Singapore’s social and digital content strategy across owned channels, helping us build stronger brand resonance, deeper engagement and a more distinctive presence online. Just as importantly, you will help shape how audiences in Singapore and beyond experience and connect with the future of Science Centre Singapore through content, storytelling and culture.
Job purposeThis role exists to strengthen Science Centre Singapore’s digital and social presence through social-first storytelling, compelling content and culturally relevant community engagement. By translating brand, campaign and organisational priorities into platform-native content and digital experiences, the role helps keep the organisation relevant, engaging and resonant in a fast-evolving media landscape, while supporting the broader ambition to build a more distinctive, future-facing and globally visible brand.
What you will do
Social and content strategySupport the development and execution of social-first content strategies across key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedInHelp shape content pillars, editorial themes and platform approaches aligned to brand, campaign and audience prioritiesTranslate brand, PR, campaign and event moments into platform-native ideas and content plansStay current on social trends, audience behaviour, platform changes and emerging formats, and apply these quickly and intelligently to the workContribute ideas that keep Science Centre Singapore relevant, distinctive and culturally attuned
Content creation and storytellingCreate, write, adapt and optimise content for different platforms, including captions, carousels, short-form videos, stories, reels and other digital formatsRepurpose campaign, corporate and PR materials into content that feels accessible, engaging and made for the platformSupport the development of creative briefs for agencies, creators, photographers and videographersEnsure content is on-brand, audience-led and aligned to platform best practicesTranslate real-time opportunities, trending moments and live requests into strong creative output under tight timelines
Editorial planning and publishingSupport the management of the social media and content calendar across always-on, campaign and event-based contentCoordinate planning and publishing to ensure consistency, timeliness and quality across channelsMaintain strong content hygiene across captions, tagging, metadata, asset organisation and approvalsWork with internal stakeholders and partners to ensure content is delivered and published accurately and on time
Live content capture and on-ground storytellingSupport on-site content capture during media previews, launches, exhibitions, festivals, weekend activations and special eventsWork closely with agencies, photographers, videographers and internal teams to ensure key moments are captured effectivelyIdentify content opportunities in real time and help turn them into assets that can be used across social and digital platformsHelp ensure no strong storytelling opportunity is missed on the ground
Community engagement and social presenceSupport the day-to-day management of Science Centre Singapore’s organic social media presenceHelp foster a responsive, relevant and engaging brand voice across platformsMonitor audience conversations, comments, trends and competitor activity to inform content and engagement decisionsWork with agencies and internal teams on community management and escalation protocols where needed
Performance monitoring and optimisationMonitor content and channel performance across reach, engagement, video views, traffic and audience growthHelp turn analytics, platform data and campaign results into actionable recommendations for improvementSupport reporting that combines social, content and broader marketing insightsUse data and observation to continuously improve content quality, timing, formats and effectiveness
Collaboration and agency partnershipWork closely with internal teams across marketing, communications, partnerships, events and creative functions to support integrated executionCoordinate with agencies, creators and external vendors to ensure briefs are clear and output is delivered to a high standardContribute ideas confidently and help push for stronger, more social-native creative workBe a proactive team player who can move between planning, execution and optimisation with agility
What we are looking forDiploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Digital Content or a related disciplineAround 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing or content strategyMinimum 1 year experience with Facebook & Instagam Marketing.Strong understanding of major social platforms, platform behaviours and content best practicesClear instinct for what makes content engaging, shareable and culturally relevantStrong writing, editing and copywriting skills with a good sense of tone, voice and audienceHands-on experience in creating or shaping short-form video, static content and digital storytelling assetsFamiliarity with content creation and editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro or equivalentWorking knowledge of analytics, publishing, listening or social media management toolsBasic understanding of paid social and how organic and paid content can work together is a plusAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with good judgment and attention to detailConfidence working with agencies, creators and cross-functional stakeholdersA proactive mindset, strong curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt and improve quickly
