Role OverviewWe are looking for a highly experienced L3 Data Protection Engineer specializing in Veritas NetBackup (Windows & Linux). The role involves designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade backup and recovery solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and cyber resilience of critical data across global environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & ImplementationDesign and deploy robust data protection strategies using Veritas NetBackupArchitect scalable and secure backup solutions aligned with business needs Backup & Recovery Operations (L3 Ownership)Manage and optimize backup/recovery processes across Windows & Linux environmentsEnsure data integrity, performance tuning, and high availability Advanced Troubleshooting & SupportAct as L3 escalation point for complex backup/recovery issuesPerform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes Cyber Resilience & SecurityImplement ransomware protection strategies (immutability, anomaly detection, air-gap concepts)Strengthen data protection posture against evolving cyber threats Collaboration & Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with global clients and internal teams for solution alignmentSupport presales/architecture discussions where required Documentation & Knowledge SharingCreate SOPs, runbooks, and best practice guidesMentor L1/L2 engineers and support skill development

Required Skills & Expertise8+ years of hands-on experience in Veritas NetBackup (mandatory)Strong expertise in Windows & Linux backup environmentsProven experience in enterprise backup, restore, and disaster recovery planningDeep understanding of NetBackup architecture, policies, storage lifecycle, and media managementExperience in handling L3 escalations and critical incident managementKnowledge of cyber resilience, ransomware protection, and data security conceptsExposure to global support models and client-facing rolesExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsFlexibility to work in rotational shifts

Good to HaveExperience with cloud backup (AWS/Azure/GCP)Knowledge of other backup tools or storage technologiesScripting/automation exposure (Shell, Python, etc.)
