Big Data Engineer

About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer / Big Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and pipelines across cloud environments. The role requires strong expertise in Big Data technologies, advanced SQL performance tuning, cloud integration (Azure), automation, and AI/GenAI enablement. The ideal candidate will work on enterprise‑scale data systems supporting analytics, AI/ML, and modern data applications.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and optimize large‑scale batch and streaming data pipelines using Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Work extensively with the Hadoop ecosystem including Hive, HDFS, and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Build and manage curated, analytics‑ready datasets to support downstream BI and AI use cases.
• Handle multi‑source data ingestion into data lakes and object storage platforms.
• Cloud & Integration
• Develop and maintain data solutions integrated with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Implement secure and scalable integrations between on‑premise and cloud‑based data systems.
• Work with object storage systems and modern data architectures.
• SQL, Performance & Optimization
• Develop complex SQL logic using Deep T‑SQL and advanced database programming concepts.
• Perform advanced SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across analytical workloads.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong experience in PySpark, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive
• Advanced SQL Server & T‑SQL with proven performance tuning expertise
• Strong programming experience in Python and Java
• Experience with REST APIs, data integration, and distributed systems
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Cloud integration
• Hadoop ecosystem & Big Data processing
• Object storage and modern data architectures
• Data engineering best practices and patterns
• PowerShell and scripting for automation
• Workflow orchestration and operational automation
