Business Development Manager
BrightStar Care
Job Description
Business Development Manager – Field-Based
BrightStar Care of Needham / Brookline is hiring a Business Development Manager to build referral partnerships across Greater Boston and MetroWest. This is a field-based, relationship-driven role for someone who has carried goals, exceeded targets, and understands the senior care or post-acute healthcare space.
What You’ll Do
- Represent BrightStar Care at community and healthcare events and build new referral relationships with hospitals, clinics, discharge planners, case managers, and senior living communities.
- Execute a structured weekly outreach cadence and track activity and outcomes in CRM tools.
- Educate partners on care transitions, discharge planning, post‑acute care, and aging‑in‑place services.
- Collaborate closely with leadership and clinical teams to ensure strong handoffs and an excellent client experience.
Compensation & Incentives
This role offers a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission tied to new business growth. Performance expectations are clearly defined and achievable, with earnings increasing as referrals convert into ongoing cases. The structure rewards consistent effort, accountability, and long‑term relationship building.
About Us
BrightStar Care of Needham / Brookline is a mission‑driven home care agency founded on a simple belief: every human life has inherent dignity. We view aging not as decline, but as a season deserving excellence, respect, and professionalism. Our goal is to help people recover safely at home, age in place with dignity, and support families and referral partners with reliability, responsiveness, and trust.
About You
You are a relationship‑oriented sales professional who is humble, hungry, and smart. You take ownership of results, seek feedback, and continuously improve your approach. You bring energy, curiosity, and a strong work ethic to your role and are comfortable working in a growth‑oriented environment.
You have carried a quota or measurable goals and can point to examples where you consistently met or exceeded expectations. You have knowledge of or strong experience in the home care, elder care, home health, hospice, senior living, or post‑acute healthcare industry, and understand how trust and education drive referral decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales, business development, or outreach experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Prior experience in home care, elder care, home health, hospice, senior living, or adjacent healthcare services strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow‑through.
- Ability to execute a structured outreach plan independently.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (this is a 4‑day/week field‑based role).
Who Should Not Apply
This role is not a fit for candidates seeking a fully remote position, those uncomfortable with in‑person relationship building and field‑based work, or individuals who prefer loosely defined roles without clear goals, structure, and accountability. This is not an entry‑level role and requires prior experience carrying sales or performance targets.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow into broader leadership, territory ownership, or senior business development responsibility as the organization expands.
