Summary: The Business Development Manager, Parts & Service is responsible for owning and aggressively scaling the aftermarket parts and service business. The Business Development Manager, Parts & Service will lead the strategy, pipeline, pricing discipline, and execution required to turn customer demand into high-margin, recurring revenue. This role is focused on winning more business, improving conversion rates, and building a best-in-class aftermarket growth engine that supports customers running robotic and automated systems.
Essential Functions:
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Own and drive aggressive growth of parts and service revenue
- Develop and execute proactive strategies to win new customers and expand support with existing customers
- Identify and create new revenue streams including lifecycle upgrades, spare parts kits, preventative maintenance packages, and service-driven sales opportunities
- Turn every customer interaction into a measurable revenue opportunity
Pipeline and Conversion Performance
- Build and manage a high-value pipeline of parts and service opportunities
- Drive faster quote turnaround and higher quote-to-order conversion
- Implement disciplined follow-up processes that close more business and reduce lost opportunities
- Provide clear, data-driven visibility on pipeline value, aging, and win rate
Margin Ownership and Financial Results
- Own revenue targets, gross margin performance, and contribution results
- Enforce strong pricing discipline and protect margin across parts and service
- Actively manage vendor cost changes and pricing strategy to protect profitability
- Deliver consistent, predictable monthly performance
Customer Impact
- Position the team as the fastest and most responsive aftermarket support group in the industry
- Deliver accurate, technically strong solutions that keep customer equipment running and producing
- Expand long-term customer relationships through proactive support, lifecycle planning, and fast execution
Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing parts team
- Establish clear KPIs focused on responsiveness, conversion, and profitability
- Build a culture centered on urgency, accountability, and winning business
- Work cross-functionally with service, engineering, project management, and sales to drive results
Education, Experience, Technical Knowledge, and Skills:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred, or 5+ years in a similar role
- 3+ years of experience in automation, robotics, industrial equipment, or a technical aftermarket environment
- 3+ years in a leadership or ownership role preferred
Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with: ▪ Industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa) ▪ PLC and controls components ▪ Drives, motors, sensors, safety systems ▪ Electrical and mechanical spare parts
Understanding of lifecycle support and preventative maintenance strategies
