Western Australian Specialty Alloys (WASA) is an international market leader in the production of superalloys for forging and ring rolling applications for a range of aerospace, power generation and oil & gas applications. We are a fully owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC) a US manufacturing company based in Portland, Oregon.
Airbus, Boeing, GE, Rolls-Royce and many other leading manufacturers depend on PCC for critical airframe, engine, power generation and general industrial components. With few exceptions, every aircraft in the sky flies with parts manufactured by PCC.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Sales Manager to support and grow our customer base across Australia and international markets.
This role is integral to WASA’s continued success, combining technical sales expertise, customer relationship management, and proactive business development. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will represent WASA in the market, promote our technical capabilities, and identify opportunities for long‑term growth.
You will manage key customer relationships, provide technical and commercial support, and take a hands‑on role in developing new business while ensuring a high standard of customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Identify customer needs, sales opportunities, and market gaps to support short and long‑term growth
- Proactively target and develop new customers within Australian and international markets
- Conduct customer meetings, site visits, introductory discussions, and technical presentations
- Promote the company’s product range, capabilities, and quality accreditations
- Provide regular updates on sales activity, projects, and pipeline performance
- Contribute to market intelligence, competitor analysis, and customer feedback
- Support the development of sales tools, marketing initiatives, and best practices
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customers
- Provide technical and commercial sales support for WASA products
- Prepare accurate commercial and technical quotations based on customer requirements
- Manage customer purchase orders and coordinate effective product delivery
About You
You are a commercially driven sales professional with a technical background and a passion for building long‑term customer relationships.
You Bring
- 3–5 years’ experience in sales or business development within engineering or manufacturing
- Strong customer relationship, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and manage sales pipelines
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and prioritisation skills in fast‑paced environments
- Sound HSE awareness and a continuous improvement mindset
- Solid knowledge of alloying, machining, material testing, and metallurgy (preferred)
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Technical Sales (preferred)
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications (preferred)
