Business Operations Manager
OneVest
Job Description
OneVest is a fast‑growing technology company on a mission to power the world’s wealth by revolutionizing how financial institutions deliver wealth management services. We are an innovative team that thrives on creativity, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence. We have been listed as one of Forbes’s best start‑up employers and named on the WealthTech100 list for 2024.
OneVest is backed by notable investors including Salesforce Ventures, Allianz Life Ventures, TIAA Ventures, OMERS Ventures, Fin Capital, Deloitte Ventures, and more. If you’re passionate about finance, technology, and making a real impact, this is the perfect opportunity to be part of something big.
Business Operations Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with key teams (Revenue, Product, Engineering, Finance) to design and drive the adoption of new processes, tools and operational strategies that support their goals.
- Coordinate regular business reviews with internal teams and vendors to ensure processes and tools are meeting business needs and service levels are being met.
- Act as the primary business owner and administrator for our central tech stack (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Salesforce, Asana), managing configuration, integrations, user permissions, and optimization.
- Lead our internal automation strategy, using tools such as n8n and Zapier to build workflows that eliminate repetitive, low‑impact tasks and free up teams for higher‑value work.
- Track, measure, and report on key operational metrics and project outcomes to the Operations team and executive leadership.
Vendor Management
- Take full ownership of vendor relationships, building and maintaining OneVest’s centralized procurement and management process.
- Lead all procurement cycles, including vendor consolidation, cost‑center analysis, and contract/renewal negotiations to maximize value and reduce risk.
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Partner with leadership and functional teams on Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining the operational risk registry and related risk‑management tasks.
Facilities
- Manage facilities and office operations, including relationships with property managers, service providers, and office‑related vendors.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Business Operations, Systems Operations, or a similar strategic/technical ops role in a high‑growth SaaS environment.
- See the business as an interconnected system with BizOps as the central operating system; ask “why” before diving in and consider cross‑functional impacts on new initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and maintaining the tools in our central tech stack (Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Salesforce).
- A “builder” who is comfortable making decisions autonomously and thrives on creating systems from “zero‑to‑one.”
- Skilled negotiator who has led procurement cycles and contract reviews.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills; manage multiple high‑priority projects (e.g., system implementation, procurement cycle) from start to finish.
- Demonstrable experience building and maintaining workflows with low‑code/no‑code automation tools; direct experience with n8n is a massive plus, but Zapier and similar tools are assets, as well.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with GRC programs (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Experience in a fintech or highly‑regulated tech environment.
- Knowledge of basic accounting (cost‑center allocation, OpEx vs. CapEx).
What It’s Like to Work With Us
- Culture: It’s fun, rewarding, fast‑paced – and we build cool stuff, too!
- Vacation: 4 weeks of vacation in addition to a company‑wide shutdown between Christmas and New Year.
- Flexibility: A flexible & hybrid working environment.
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Group Health, Dental and Vision Benefit Plan right from the start.
- Equity: Employee Stock Option Purchase Plan.
