YOUR MISSION (The Job Description) Support servers through timely bussing and resetting of tables, running food and beverages, engage in polite, responsive, and timely interaction with guests and coworkers including basic menu descriptions, in addition to other responsibilities as directed by server or supervisor, while maintaining a positive attitude that contributes to the team environment THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties) Ensure that items are fully stocked, and equipment is in good working condition Strong knowledge and consistent use of SNHD regulations and standards Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team Consistently maintains clean and safe work area for self and other team members Participate in seamless operation between BOH FOH staff members ensuring proper service to our guests Perform to high standards of excellence, execution, and cleanliness Always keep your active SNHD Food Handler's card with you while on property Execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature & time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by the SNHD Report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to leadership in an accurate and timely manner Contribute to successful SNHD health inspections Monitor and ensure cleanliness of all place settings, tabletops, seats, and floor Perform guest service duties as assigned (such as beverage and plate service) Communicate with cashier and servers for needs and any guest service issues Actively participate in all scheduled required training sessions WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For) Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group. Collaborative approach with all departments Ability to break down barriers and resolve potential conflicts swiftly and effortlessly Ability to anticipate needs and over-deliver wherever possible Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions Able to change direction and work on multiple project aspects at once Enthusiastic, passionate, able to inspire and motivate others Leadership ability and behavior consistent with Virgin Hotels Core Values: Fun, innovative, original and personable, and striving to deliver high quality and brilliant guest service MUST HAVE'S Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States High school or equivalent education required Food Service Handler Card that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S Must enjoy being around and working with people Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as all state and federal laws Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance Adhere to hotel policies including but not limited to attendance, safety, and behavior THE WORKING CONDITIONS Lift and carry 50 lbs., carry and balance plates, carry kegs, wine and beer cases as necessary Stand and walk for periods of 8-10 hours. Proper footwear is required Communicate clearly in verbal and written English Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, smoke, light (including flashing lights), and sound.
Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken.
