Locum Tenens Opportunity: Interventional Cardiologist Northern Michigan

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a long-term locum tenens assignment in Northern Michigan.

Open Call Coverage Dates (72-hour blocks):

• January 9 12, 2026
• February 6 9, 2026
• March , 2026
• April , 2026
• May , 2026
• June , 2026

Compensation:

• $2800 per 24-hour call
• $450/hour for callback

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour in-hospital call coverage, including weekends
• Perform urgent/emergent cardiac catheterizations and PCI procedures
• Manage general cardiology patients (CHF, arrhythmias, ACS, post-PCI care)
• Daily rounding on hospitalized cardiology patients
• Supervise and collaborate with an on-site Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
• Utilize full-service Cath Lab, 24/7 radiology/lab support, and hospitalist teams
• Document care using Cerner EHR
• Participate in code responses and airway management with hospitalist and anesthesia teams
• Coordinate occasional transfers with McLaren Bay, Lansing, or nearby facilities

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
• Active Michigan medical license in good standing REQUIRED
• Must reside in or near Michigan REQUIRED
• Clean background for expedited credentialing REQUIRED
• Availability for listed dates REQUIRED
• DEA Verbal confirmation required at name clear REQUIRED
• Must be CLEAR for credentialing

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days
