Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCDL Bus Driver - BeachesPosition Type: Part-Time, Non-ExemptPay Rate: $18 - $22 DescriptionThis position provides transportation for after-school routes and special events. There are also opportunities for full-time driving during Spring Break and Summer. KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):This position’s primary responsibilities are:Operate vehicles safely and professionally Transport members, following pre-planned routes per a definite time schedule during the school yearDrive vehicles carefully and in compliance with traffic regulationsAssume responsibility for the safety of children in loading, unloading and while transporting themInstruct members in safety precautions and practicesMaintain discipline of passengers; report any unruly behavior to a supervisorClean bus interior dailyPerform daily preventative maintenance checks Keep operational records up to date and report issues to supervisorADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESAttend relevant staff meetings and training eventsMay participate in additional special programs and/or eventsEvenings/weekend work may be involvedOther duties as assignedRequirements EducationHigh School diploma or GEDCurrent state-issued Commercial Driver’s License (B) with P EndorsementDependable and safe driving historyCPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain (Will Train)Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug testExperience and QualificationsExperience working with or transporting children preferredAbility to motivate youth and manage behavior issuesAbility to organize and supervise members while maintaining a safe environmentAbility to work with the publicExperience driving transit buses is a plusWORK ENVIRONMENT:This position generally works M – F, 1 PM – 7 PM (part-time, approximately 3–6 hours per day); however, it may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary.
Full-time driving may be available during Spring Break and during the Summer.
