Chef de Cuisine – Lume | West Village NYC
We are seeking a talented and driven Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen at Lume, a high-volume Italian restaurant in the West Village.
We are looking for a chef who can bring structure, consistency, and leadership to a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining a strong culinary identity.
This role is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, maintaining consistency and quality, and leading a strong, organized team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Lead daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Manage and train kitchen staff
- Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front of house
- Control food cost, ordering, and inventory
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and structure in the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene standards
- Contribute to menu execution and development
- 3 to 5 years as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine
- Experience in high-volume NYC restaurants
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a team and perform under pressure
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven
- $80,000
- Full-time, hands-on role
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Strong leadership presence in the kitchen is essential
