Chief Revenue Officer
Oztix
Job Description
Some roles ask you to build something. Some ask you to fix something. This one asks you to unlock something. Oztix has spent more than twenty years building the relationships, reputation and platform that most businesses would envy. The new Chief Revenue Officer inherits all of it, and the mandate to take it further.
Oztix is Australia’s leading independent ticketing and event technology company. More than 10,000 clients. Four million customers.
Millions of tickets sold every year across music, festivals, tourism, racing, rodeo, sport, food and wine, cultural events and more. A team of people who know this industry because they love it. A service culture so strong that when event organisers have a choice, they choose Oztix.
That is not a marketing claim. It is a commercial moat. Privately held and backed by PE, the brand is trusted, the relationships run deep, the technology is world class and built in-house, and the opportunity ahead is significant.
The Role
This is a newly created Chief Revenue Officer position, reporting directly to the Managing Director with Board visibility. It has been created because the commercial opportunity in front of Oztix is significant, and the time is right to bring a dedicated C-suite commercial leader into the business.
The new CRO joins a team that has spent years earning the trust of the Australian events industry. People who know the clients by name. Who understand what a promoter needs at midnight before an on-sale.
Who have built partnerships and relationships and a reputation that no amount of marketing budget can manufacture. This role is about bringing senior commercial leadership to sit alongside that, and together taking Oztix into its next chapter of growth.
The mandate has two dimensions and the right person will be energised by both. The first is personal. The new CRO will be active in the market, developing new senior client relationships, opening doors in new verticals, and leading on the deals that matter.
This is not a role for someone who has moved away from selling. The business needs a leader who remains connected to the commercial reality at ground level because that is where credibility is built and where Oztix wins. The second is strategic.
Oztix has capabilities that the market would pay for and a client base that would buy more if approached in the right way. Event delivery. Marketing services.
Data. Partnerships. New verticals across every industry the business already touches.
The new CRO will be the architect of how Oztix commercialises those opportunities, with a seat at the Board table and the authority to shape strategy rather than execute someone else’s.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Inspiring and developing the commercial team, with a coaching approach that builds genuine capability, fosters ownership and creates a culture where people are motivated to perform at their best
- Shaping and owning the commercial strategy across Oztix’s full portfolio of products and services
- Developing commercial frameworks that support sustainable, scalable growth: pricing, rate structures, margin management and revenue reporting
- Contributing as a genuine commercial voice at Board level, shaping strategy rather than reporting against it
- Partnering with the Operations Manager and broader team to grow revenue per client and deepen the value Oztix delivers across its client base
- Identifying and commercialising the full breadth of what Oztix offers, packaging internal capabilities into structured, sellable services with clear commercial models
- Driving expansion across all verticals, building targeted propositions and a disciplined approach to new market development
- Developing new major client relationships and leading on significant new business opportunities across all verticals
About You
You have reached a point in your career where you are equally comfortable closing a deal and presenting to a Board. You have led commercial teams and you have stayed close enough to the market that you never lost the instinct for what makes a client say yes. You have built things.
Not just managed things that existed, but designed the model, set the direction, and created something you are proud of. You are drawn to businesses that have earned their market position through genuine relationships rather than marketing budgets. You understand that in a relationship-driven industry, the best commercial strategy is one that makes clients feel like partners.
You do not need a large corporate structure to operate at your best. You are energised by clarity of purpose and proximity to the work.
You lead in a way that brings people with you. You earn trust through what you do, not the title you carry. You see the best in the people around you and you know how to bring it out.
When you walk into a room, the energy shifts. Oztix has a set of values that will resonate with you: proactive touch, integrity and ownership, a genuine drive to innovate for growth, positive energy, and a belief that the best outcomes come when people trust each other and succeed together. These are not wall posters.
They are the way this business has operated for more than two decades and the way the new CRO will need to lead.
Skills & Experience
- Senior B2B commercial leadership at C-suite or equivalent level, with a personal track record of new business development and major deal closure alongside team leadership
- A coaching and development approach that inspires experienced teams, builds individual capability and creates genuine accountability without eroding the culture that makes a business special
- Experience designing and implementing commercial frameworks in complex, multi-product or multi-vertical environments: pricing structures, margin management, revenue reporting and commercial governance
- A disciplined, data-driven approach to pipeline management and commercial forecasting, with the ability to build and sustain rigor across a team over time
- Strategic thinking at Board level, with the ability to translate commercial vision into clear, executable strategy
- Experience identifying and commercialising new service lines, packaging internal capabilities into structured revenue-generating offerings
- Experience in ticketing, live events, media, entertainment or adjacent industries is advantageous, though strong candidates from comparable commercial environments will be equally considered
What’s On Offer
Most commercial leadership roles offer responsibility in theory. This one offers it in practice.
You will work alongside a brand clients actively choose, relationships built over two decades, a technology platform that is built in-house and designed to evolve with clients’ ever-changing needs, and a team of people who know this industry inside out and care deeply about what they do.
The mandate is real. The autonomy is genuine. The upside is significant and within reach. You will present to the Board and be a genuine voice in the commercial direction of a business that the Australian events industry depends on. The person who leads this next chapter will build something they can point to for the rest of their career.
