Job Description
We're building the AI workforce for Spanish trades — climatización, fontanería, electricidad, solar. We answer calls, handle WhatsApp, and book jobs directly into the operator's CRM. One HVAC operator deployed in Catalonia, ten more by year-end.
The category just got real: ElevenLabs opened a Madrid office last week, HeyDiga raised €1M from KFund in December, and Avoca raised $125M at a $1B valuation building this in the US. The Spanish trades vertical is a nine-month window. I'm hiring the engineer who closes it with me.
The role
You'll own engineering end-to-end, starting as Founding Engineer with a clear path to CTO as we hire under you. Concretely:
- Telephony + WhatsApp infrastructure. Telnyx/Twilio integration, SIP trunking, number porting from Movistar/Vodafone/MasOrange without service interruption. WhatsApp Business API onboarding via 360dialog. Multi-channel orchestration so calls, WhatsApp, and Google Business share one conversation context. Production voice via ElevenLabs/Deepgram/OpenAI Realtime — sub-second latency, regional accents.
- Spanish CRM integrations. Native Holded, STEL Order, Praktiko. Not Zapier glue. The endgame is being the official AI receptionist inside their marketplaces.
- Security and AI quality tooling. GDPR, EU data residency, ENS Nivel Alto from day one. Plus the internal tooling that lets a small team obsess over every customer's call quality — today that's you and me listening to recordings and tuning prompts; over time it becomes a structured ops function we build together.
- Hiring. Bringing on engineers as the customer base grows.
The bottleneck right now is onboarding speed. Today it takes two weeks to launch a customer; it should take two hours. Closing that gap is the next twenty deals.
Who you probably are
- 5–10 years shipping production systems, with at least one early-stage startup stretch
- You've shipped CPaaS in production: Twilio, Telnyx, MessageBird, Sinch, or similar. SIP, RTP, webhooks, and call control are not abstract concepts to you
- You've onboarded WhatsApp Business API through a BSP — Meta verification, template approvals, WABA migrations. If you haven't, this isn't the role
- You've shipped real-time LLM applications: latency budgets, streaming, function calling, RAG
- You're AI-native in your own workflow. Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent is how you ship. You operate as if AI tooling makes you 3–5x more effective, because it does
- You speak fluent Spanish. Catalan a plus
- Based in Spain, fully remote, but willing to spend one to two weeks at a stretch on-site with customers during onboarding. The first ten customers are won by embedding deeply with them
Ideally you come from companies like Twilio , MessageBird, 360dialog, Sinch, TalkDesk, Zadarma, Voiped, Landbot, Vox AI, ManyContacts, Holded, Factorial, TravelPerk, or Typeform. The work done, and the time committed matters more than the logos though.
Compensation
- Base: €50k, scaling up as we grow
- Equity: 1–2.5%, four-year vest, one-year cliff. True co-founder package available for the right person
- Spanish private healthcare, equipment, learning budget, equity refresh at Series A
Self-screening question
