Vice President, Technology
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) 3 or 4 days in office CLT Near Uptown
Company Overview
Private equity-backed platform company (and the IDEAL CANDIDATE will come with prior P.E. Roll-up experience) focused on improving the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the built environment is seeking a Vice President of Technology & Infrastructure. The organization operates through a growing network of 40+ operating companies across the U.S.
With continued growth through both acquisition and organic expansion, technology plays a critical role in driving operational consistency, integration speed, cybersecurity, and scalable infrastructure across the enterprise.
The Opportunity
The Vice President, Technology & Infrastructure, will build and lead a scalable IT organization supporting a distributed, multi-entity business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will drive enterprise technology strategy while ensuring reliable day‑to‑day IT operations across the platform.
This role requires a hands‑on, execution‑focused technology leader who can standardize systems, integrate acquisitions, manage external partners, and elevate IT into a strategic value‑creation function within a private equity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise IT roadmap aligned with operational and financial goals
- Build a centralized IT service model supporting 40+ business units with limited local IT resources
- Establish enterprise standards across infrastructure, security, systems, and data governance
- Lead integration of acquired companies into common systems, platforms, and security frameworks
- Drive Microsoft Azure architecture, governance, optimization, and cost management
- Strengthen cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities
- Implement measurable IT KPIs including uptime, service levels, and cost efficiency
- Manage IT budget and optimize vendor and software spend
- Lead and develop an internal IT team (~10 professionals)
- Oversee managed service providers and third‑party technology partners

Qualifications
- Senior IT leadership experience in private equity‑backed or multi‑entity organizations
- Experience supporting distributed operations with centralized IT services
- Strong technical foundation across infrastructure, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity
- Deep experience with Microsoft Azure architecture and governance
- Proven success leading post‑acquisition IT integrations
- Experience managing MSPs and external technology vendors
- Strong financial acumen and executive communication skills
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
